Skylight FAQ

What’s the difference between a real skylight and an artificial skylight? +

A real skylight requires cutting through the roof to let in sunlight — not allowed for HDB. An artificial skylight uses LED and diffuser technology to recreate natural daylight safely within your ceiling.

Is it approved for HDB installation? +

Yes. Artificial skylights are considered ceiling-mounted lighting fixtures, fully HDB-compliant with no structural alteration.

How bright is it compared to normal ceiling lights? +

Brightness ranges 3,000–6,000 lumens depending on size — simulating real daylight, much brighter and more natural than downlights.

What sizes and wattages are available? +

  • 65 W: 300 × 600 mm / 450 × 450 mm
  • 90 W: 600 × 600 mm / 300 × 1200 mm
  • 180 W: 1200 × 600 mm

Can the colour and brightness be adjusted? +

Yes. Adjustable brightness and colour temperature (2700 K–6500 K). Controlled via Tuya Smart App, Google Home, Alexa, or wireless remote.

What’s the warranty period? +

3 years for product and workmanship.

Can it be used in bathrooms or kitchens? +

Yes. With an IP44 waterproof rating, the skylight resists water splashes from any direction, making it suitable for indoor wet areas such as bathrooms and kitchens, excluding direct shower exposure.

How long does installation take? +

About 1–2 hours per unit, including wiring. For new renovations, done together with ceiling and lighting works.

Does it save energy? +

Yes. LED technology provides strong brightness at 65–180 W consumption, reducing the need for multiple ceiling lights.

What is the lifespan and maintenance required? +

Up to 50,000 hours lifespan (≈ 10–12 years). Maintenance-free — just light dusting, no bulb changes needed.
